Loading an Avatar
You can load a model from the “File” menu. VCam supports VRM files and models on VRoid Hub.
To load a VRM file, choose File > “Open Model List”. Click + in the toolbar to add the VRM file to the list, select it, then click “Load”. You can also double-click a model in the list to load it. When you drag and drop a VRM file, it’s added to the list and loaded.
To choose a model on VRoid Hub, choose File > “Load Avatar on VRoid Hub”.
The model you loaded last loads automatically the next time you open VCam.
Using an Avatar Made for VRChat
Section titled “Using an Avatar Made for VRChat”You can export an avatar set up for VRChat as a VRM with VCam Avatar Exporter.
Loading FBX or MMD Files
Section titled “Loading FBX or MMD Files”Models in formats such as FBX and MMD can be loaded after you convert them to VRM in Unity. For how to convert them, see resources such as the UniVRM documentation.
VCam2D
Section titled “VCam2D”You can load Live2D Cubism models. In File > “Open Model List”, click + in the toolbar, or drag and drop the model folder. Structure the folder like this:
- Model folder - <model name>.moc3 - Texture folder - texture1.png - Other files (physics3.json, motions and expressions folders, and so on)Managing the Model List
Section titled “Managing the Model List”In both VCam and VCam2D, right-click a model in the “Model List” to do the following:
- “Rename”: Changes the name shown in the list. You can also click the name to change it
- “Change Thumbnail”: Uses an image you choose as the thumbnail
- “Duplicate”: Adds a copy of the model to the list
- “Delete”: Removes the model from the list. You can’t delete the only model in the list
Drag models to reorder them. Models you add to the list are copied into the app, so removing a model from the list keeps the original file.
