Backgrounds and light
Shooting with the front camera removes you from the background as much as possible.
Hide Me
Section titled “Hide Me”Choose how you are hidden under “Hide Me” in settings.
- Low: fills you in with the colors around you; the lightest
- Medium: fills you in with the background seen so far
- High: also guesses the parts that were never seen
“Medium” and “High” work from what the camera has seen, so moving your iPhone around a little before you shoot makes the correction more accurate.
Shoot inside a photo you took
Section titled “Shoot inside a photo you took”
Set the background to “Photo” or “Video” to shoot with a photo or video you already took as the background. This is handy when you want to add your avatar afterwards.
“Transparent” saves the avatar cut out with no background at all, ready to drop into a video edit or a stream. No green screen is needed, so the result comes out clean.
Match Background
Section titled “Match Background”Turn on “Match Background” and the brightness and color of the scene are applied to the avatar’s light: warm in an evening photo, blue in an aquarium. Turn it off and the light stays the same everywhere.
