Getting More from Avatars
Touch and hold an item in a list to see more controls.
What Touch and Hold Shows
Section titled “What Touch and Hold Shows”![]()
Touch and hold an avatar to show “Move Left” and “Move Right”, plus “Adjust Size & Position” for an image avatar and “Delete” for an avatar you imported. You can also drag avatars to reorder them. You can reorder poses and motions by touching and holding them too, and rename the ones you imported with “Rename” or remove them with “Delete”.
Touch and hold an accessory to show “Adjust Position”, plus “Delete” for an accessory you imported.
Applying Expressions and Poses
Section titled “Applying Expressions and Poses”
An expression is applied while you touch and hold it, and a tap keeps it on.
Tap a pose or motion to apply it, and tap it again to go back to normal. During a pose, your face and head keep following you, and an arm whose hand is in view follows you too. During a motion, the neck and expression move with the motion as well.
While a motion plays, a playback bar appears below the list. You can pause it, or drag the bar to the moment you want.
Wearing Accessories
Section titled “Wearing Accessories”Tap an accessory to wear it, and tap it again to take it off. You can wear several at once, and what you wear is saved for each avatar.
For the penlight, touch and hold it, choose “Adjust Position”, then choose the color it glows in “Color”.
With Pro, you can also import your own 3D models with “Add” at the end of the list. Choose one with “Files” in “Add Accessory”. “Find Accessories” lists BOOTH and Sketchfab, where accessories are shared. Hats, glasses, ears, and small handheld items work best. Outfits, nails, and other items made for a specific avatar won’t fit.
On iPhone, you can import:
- GLB and FBX files
- A zip file containing a GLB, FBX, or glTF model
- A folder containing a GLB, FBX, or glTF model
On Android, you can import GLB files and zip files containing a GLB or glTF model. FBX files can’t be imported.
For a model whose textures are separate files, put the textures in a zip file with it, or choose the folder. Choosing an FBX file on its own leaves its textures behind. Folders in Google Drive, Dropbox, and similar apps can’t be chosen, so copy them to On My iPhone or iCloud Drive, or choose a zip file instead.
If an imported accessory isn’t in the right place, touch and hold it, choose “Adjust Position”, and change the “Type”, position, rotation, or size. While adjusting, drag on the preview to move it, pinch to resize it, and rotate to tilt it. The placement is saved for each avatar.
Adding More Avatars
Section titled “Adding More Avatars”Import avatars with “Add” at the end of the list. “Add Avatar” opens, with its choices grouped under “From Your Device” and “Find or Make a 3D Avatar (VRM)”.
- “Files”: Choose a VRM file or an image. A zip file as distributed on BOOTH and similar sites can be chosen as it is, without unzipping it
- “Photos & Illustrations”: Turn an illustration or a photo of a plushie into an avatar. The background is cut out automatically
- “VRoid Hub”: Sign in and choose from the models you can use
- “Open Source Avatars” and “BOOTH”: Open sites that share VRM avatars in your browser
- “VRoid Studio”: Make your own avatar for free on a computer

VRM files and accessories (GLB, FBX, or zip files) that you open or share from another app, or send with AirDrop on iPhone, can be imported as they are.
Adding Poses and Motions
Section titled “Adding Poses and Motions”With Pro, you can import your own files with “Add” at the end of the pose and motion lists. With “Files”, you can choose VRMA files, which are animations that move VRM avatars, and MMD motions (VMD).
- Added to poses, it holds its first frame
- Added to motions, it plays on a loop
Only VMD files that contain body movement can be used. Camera and lighting motions can’t be used. Check the distributor’s terms for how you may use them.
With “Make in Studio” in “Add” for poses, you can move the avatar’s body with your fingers in Studio and save it as a pose.
